I am feeling the need to grab my camera and hit the road. It's either going to be in the early morning or it's time for John and I to take a little mini walkabout.
I've been busy doing something, not sure what but most likely weeding a garden or two. That's not gong to stop but I really need to go out to some of my favorite back roads and see what's new, gone or blooming.
My next door neighbor, well the closest neighbor we have, has been digging a deep hole up in the corner of his property, next to his house. Can't think what he's up to. It seems rather unplanned so I wonder if he has a septic problem.
We worry about those kinds of things out here in the country. Sometimes a new well has to be dug. Luckily for us, no such problems yet.
We do need to put on a new roof, well it's not quite need yet but the hail damage we have had in the past couple of years has left its mark.
A quiet day yesterday here at Dog In The Hole. John and Riley weeded out another garden raised bed and then planted pole green beans and bush beans.
They of course also hit the pool whose temperature was only 75 degrees! It's just to cold for me to enjoy. In fact our weather the entire month of June, so far, has been below the normal of 76 degrees. More like down there in the 60s.
I was watching a program on PBS last night, something about how England came about and the host was reading some ancient Latin records about the weather in 1350. Seems they didn't realize at the time that they were in the beginning of the Little Ice Age. hmmm, I wonder if we are too? Nah, can't be, I just saw a show about the glaciers melting in Alaska.
We are taking Riley to see Wicked, the stage play, tonight. Her first real grown up play. We have end of the row seats so if for some reason it's more than she can handle we can slip out. Although, I don't really anticipate a problem.
A friend sent me the DVD, for Christmas, of Cirque Du Soleil, Worlds Away. I didn't watch it right away and then forgot I had it. Yesterday, Riley found it with her Dora Dvds so we decided to sit down and give it a go.
WOWSER! Donna, took me to see a live performance of Cirque Du Soleil, for my birthday a number of years ago. It was just as impressive on the DVD as it was in person. I glanced over at Riley and her eyes were glued to the screen.
I sat there thinking THIS IS SOOOOOOOOOO ZETTI!
And, it is magical. John said that when they went in the pool Riley was trying to stay upside down under the water and do some of the leg kicks that she saw on the Dvd.
Anyway, I recommend it if you have Netflix. I also recommend the The #1 Ladies' Detective Agency if you can get it from them. It was on HBO.
Today, Donna and I are going to do some more playing in the Studio. I want her to try some screen printing before she goes. I also had some ideas last night, in my dreams, about some things I want to try to print with dye for some of my upcoming projects.
Have a beautiful rest of your weekend.
