Tampa Blues

It's 12"x12", named itself, Tampa Blues and it's constructed of painted WonderUnder, painted vellum, fabric and acrylic paint, quilted and machine embroidery applied.

I like the effect you can get using painted WonderUnder but frankly it's time consuming to play with.

As I was working on this piece I kept having thoughts about my long abandoned ZettiCorkey, Time Traveler of Space and Beyond.

Z'Corkey is a Zetti character than came into my world while I was creating ATCs. While doodling one day on a card for a swap in the Zetti group I drew Z'Corkey, who quickly announced to me that HE was NOT art.

This morning while waking up I had thoughts about my list that I had created last year. The list of things that I was interested in, materials that I liked to use to make art, etc.  Like watching a small child connect the numbered dots in a coloring book I suddenly realized that bringing back Z'Corkey and his travels and adventures would satisfy my interests on that list.

I'm thinking that I probably should make a separate blog for Sir Z'Corkey. So, keep tuned for the link when I get that set up.

  1. I enjoy your inspirational quote on a gray Monday...I will have to try to paint some wonder under...it totally has been a place where I skipped an intriguing design element. Have a great week! Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
