And, then it came.

It started last night.  We were warned. Schools were closed in advance.  People were told to stay off the roads unless they absolutely had to travel on them.
Grocery stores had a hey day in sales.

It's mid-day and the wind is blowing 40 miles an hour sideways and the snow is still coming down.

Murphy went outside this morning, saw this piled up on the deck, steps to the yard completely covered and gone and he decided that pissing on the bench next to the door was allowed.  Anything else on his agenda could be done in the quiet and dark of the workshop downstairs.

Zeus, powered up the snow blower and bundled up and spent an hour and a  half trying to clear the driveway.  He came in to Riley telling him he looked like a snowman!

This was taken from inside the house, looking out towards the woods. The window is covered with wet snow.  Actually, all the windows in the front of the house look like that. Wet snow smashed against the windows, a layer will slide down and the wind will smash another layer on top. It's really quite pretty.

The bird feeders are getting a workout.

We made gingerbread men, salt dough ornaments this morning. Unfortunately, Grammybea forgot to put a hole in the top for hanging.  We will just have to paint them and put them in a basket.

Time for a nap and them put a chicken in the oven.
There is nothing that smells better cooking for a couple of hours than a chicken!

Enjoy your day!
