Last Day............sigh

http://www.stjohnbeachguide.com/Peace%20Hill.htm

We climbed the rocky path up to Peace Hill the other day.

We were sure it had been a lighthouse for rum runners and maybe the slave traders. It turns out it was a windmill. There used to be a GIANT statue of Jesus next to the old stone building. He like the GIANT statue of Jesus in Ohio was destroyed by the forces of nature.

Maybe we shouldn't be building GIANT statues, of a make believe likeness, of god like people?

I love the colors here. I love how people paint their houses, lavender, yellow, with contrasting colors for the shutters.
Today, we wander down to Mongoose Junction, in town and take a look in some of the shops.

Yesterday, we took a drive then headed down to Cinnamon Bay to just sit in our beachchairs, soak up the sun and float in the water. Well, one of can float, "not at our desired weight" bodies float much better than strong muscular bodies.

I'm still dealing with cravings for salt. I was hoping that a good long float in the water would soak up enough salt in my body to manage those cravings. Guess it doesn't work that way.

I can finally see the veins in my feet and my left ankle looks normal not wearing a skin inner tube around it. Zeus handed me a potato chip, yesterday, during our beach lunch. I held it and made a conscious decision to hand it back. Oh NOBLE BEA!

We travel all day tomorrow and arrive back in Verona very late in the evening. Friday is a day of laundry, cleaning and shopping to restock the larder and get ready for the Kentucky Derby party on Saturday. It looks like the weather is not going to cooperate with us so we will most likely be indoors, which means I have to do a better job of cleaning the house. Oh well, get it down now and ignore it for the rest of the summer, right?

:)Bea Who sends you peaceful greetings from the land of the sun, green hills and turquoise waters.
