Good morning.........some tea?

Aren't these adorable? Part of a huge tiered cake. Of course, I had to take a picture of them for Tea on Tuesday. Right now I wish I had that big white frosting rose, boy does that look good.
Bakery, good bakery frosting on a cake, yummmmmmmmmm.
I had my Earl Gray this morning and then off to VOTE. I was surprised to find by 9:00am I was number 156 at my local voting station. I'm glad to see that the Town of Verona voters take this seriously and got out there to VOTE.
I'm over working in the studio this morning. I just finished putting the second layer of texture on my canvas for the Texture class. I always feel a tiny bit sad when I cover up a layer but then I remind myself that I know what's under there, so it's all good. Actually, when I'm done with this technique I'll be able to see all the layers which is kinda neat. One of the stencils that I used on the first layer had a random brick type look to it. The brick shapes were different sizes. I filled in a number of them with Metallic copper transparent paint and when it dried it looked like bits of glass embedded in the canvas, very cool. Pictures when I'm all done.

I also started working on the Fiber piece for the Mixed Media & Fiber Arts group that meets locally. Our little group decided to do a joint project, different size canvas board, wrapped with whatever techniques we wanted to use. They will be all hung together, on a wall with a single squiggle piece, in black winding it's way across parts of all of our canvas boards. Confused?
Yeah, it might be one of those things you just have to see, at the end, you know?
I did some hand stitching on my November Full Moon Art Doll while watching Castle, last night.
I probably need to get myself one of those tight hand gloves with the tops of the fingers cut off.
My fingers and palm of my hand get so sore when I crochet or hand stitch. I tried soaking them in hot dish water before I stitched but they still hurt. Now, I wish I had done more hand work when I was younger. Honestly, where is the handbook (no pun intended) you should get when you are born that tells you when body parts are going to stop working right?
Enjoy your cuppa, today.
It's another beautiful fall day here. I want to play not do grown up work like raking garden beds.
:)Bea Do not put your least favorite crayons in the back row, they have feelings too, you know.

  4. Tea is good ... Voting is even good-er :) ... It sounds like you might need a pair of those fingerless gloves ... They keep your hands warm (and the muscles too) ... Also, one of those squishy balls to play with while you're just watching tv or something ... A little work out for your hands :)

    Happy tea today! Kimmie

  6. Such cute little accessories on a cake.
I was 112 at our polling place...hubby was 32 well over an hour before me. I thought there would have been more traffic...

  7. I have NO idea what number I was today, but I'd say there were at least 40 people in the church (where we vote) at the time I was there. The parking lot was full and I had to park on the street. People here seem to be taking it seriously, too.

Love the blue and white tea pots. And it sounds like you had a busy day, probably much more artful than I. Happy Tea Tuesday. Come visit one of these days.

  9. Hot tea sounds very inviting to me right now...I have had a busy day and the winter chill is creeping into my spine....ooooh my back is sore tonight. Your photo reminds me of Lexington, KY...horse country. Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

  11. Cute little tea items. I am just amazed at what some specialty stores have for tea now. And the books about tea...endless almost.
Sounds like you are busy creating, so that's a good thing.
Yep, I voted, but I will tell you that I'm glad to see all these political ads over with for awhile.

  12. What great little tea pots, oh I need a cup of tea now having seen them. How busy you have been. I know how you feel about covering up your layers from when I did it with you. I think you do need some of those fingerless gloves. My hands ache when I've been sewing or knitting too. Old age stinks!

  13. Anthropomorphism. The crayons. My daughter drives me crazy with it. Now I've started feeling sorry for my green cup because she pointed out that I don't like it the way I do the blue cup and don't use it as often. Do I have to feel the same way about my crayons? My life wasn't complicated enough. THANKS BEA.

  14. I am glad you warned me about the crayons....I will switch them up today to make sure those in the nosebleeder seats get down to front row. Phew. One can never be too considerate.
