The Soul Speaks Shroud

Ok, I had to hang it up in a darker room so you could see the "design" down the center of the fabric. Just forget, for a moment that there are more Chaukra's than we need. lol. Doesn't that look like the spinal column with the Chaukra's?

Here's a nice blury closeup for you. Look at the last design down, doesn't that look like a butterfly?

Now, this is a closeup of the "head" area. I don't know about you but I see a "third eye" star type of design with two very bright little squares right under it almost running down where a nose would go and two dark blotches where eye sockets would be.

And, of course that top of the head is gorgeous. Almost like bright star Lilly shape for the top of the head Chaukra., I'm not reaching it's there. It's beautiful and I can't wait to settle in, this winter and work on it. It will be good therapy for my stiff fingers.

I got sidetracked from my list because some piled up "stuff" that I was going to sort and take to the charity store, all fell off the worktable, in the garage. Since it was on the floor already, I sorted it, packed it up in the car and took it over to the store. TOTAL TIME about one hour.

I get pretty disgusted with myself when I put off doing something and tell myself it's going to take a lot of time, lot of work, dirty, blah, blah, blah and then when I actually DO the damned thing it wasn't all that time consuming. But, now it's done. What's left is manageable and will be out of the garage before it's time to start putting Mary's and my car in my side of the garage.

I'm going to go get the tractor and wagon and haul some things over to the barn. I may get to that job today, maybe just work it in this weekend. I'm most likely going to have to move the planting of bulbs to the weekend list. I'm running out of steam. That happens more and more these days.

I'm going to go take my beauties off the clothes line and fondle them before I take them over to the studio. I may come back with some more things to dye. This is fun!

  1. Hello my friend. Oh so sorry to have been away for so long. Guests, visitors, etc, have taken my time away but here I am again. What fun you've been having. I love those things on the line, they look so soft and tactile. I want to dye some things too!

  2. Anonymous6:50 PM

My imagination can't keep up with yours, but I love what you see!

  3. I love love love this cloth and yes my imagination is running wild with chakra ideas! Have a great weekend! Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

  4. Love it! I love looking at dyed pieces and finding patterns in them. It really does look like a face and the spine is very prominent too!

  5. Where have I been? Seems like only yesterday I was here and there are now THREE posts I haven't read. You are too prolific. How will I ever make art when I must sit and look at all the lovely pieces you have created? Lovely, my dear, simply lovely.

  6. You're like the energizer bunny! I see the eye sockets and all just like you said. That's an amazing piece of work!

  7. Whoa...I see it! I see it! :)

  8. Oh the dying turned out wonderful and yes, I definitely see it! That "xray"/Chakra piece has so many possibilities. Could you point me to or explain a little on the Soul Shroud please?
