Home again, home again.

We took off for Iowa and stayed in one of the Amana colonies, Homestead. Took a ton of pictures, need to sort through them and then I'll post some and some of my favorites over at Sun Dog Studio.
Just a nice restful, beautiful drive through gorgeous countryside. Oooooooh and the food!
Well, let's just say I ate waaaaaaaaaaaay to much.
Be back tomorrow have to go rest up from the trip.

:)Bea Who hopes to be creating this winter when she does some watercolors of some her photos from this trip.

  1. It has been years since I last there but the Amana Homestead was so peaceful when I visited there. I will look forward to seeing your photos...Did Riley go with you? Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

  2. I've read about the Amana Colonies and Amana Homestead, but never visited. It's always nice to take a trip vicariously. So glad you are back safe and sound.

  3. When we go to Amish country to camp
I seem to soak up the quiet, peaceful feeling of the land and people. Frazzeled nerves are calmed!

  4. It was so nice to just hit the back roads, less traffic, take our time and enjoy the gorgeous mid west landscape. There wasn't a lot going on at the village we visited.
More older couples walking around than any residents. The stores sold mostly tourist items, things I didn't need to acquire.
But, just getting a change of environment really engerized me. :)Bea

  6. It's a beautiful style. Almost all of the barns that I saw on our drive into Iowa were white not red, too. :)Bea
