A June Evening between 8:00 & 9:00 P.M.

We've been having some wicked storms around here lately. Tornado sightings and not quite touchdowns but some heavy wind damage. When the rain has come the only word to describe it is torrential. It comes down so heavy and hard and for so long that flooding occurs. Our lakes are at capacity which means that any more rain is going to push them to spill over.
I took some photographs this evening, while watching So You Think You Can Dance. Since I really enjoy the dancing and I get irritated with the judges comments, I mute them, run outside on the deck, front or back and snap pictures.
I could hardly keep up with the changing sky.
I put them together in a collage. Click on the picture so you can enjoy some of the beauty and power of that sky.

:)Bea This is about as creative as I got today. BUT, I am finished painting the Yellow Corn room! YAYAYAYAY

Even though What follows can be so dangerous and destructive,,I adore the drama when the skies are like this.
    Nature's artwork can't be beat!

  2. Fabulous photos, Bea! I think you were very creative today after all. We've had a lot of unsettled weather as well here in south Jersey, but nary a drop of rain in spite of it being threatening. Wish we could have some of yours. We need it badly.
Although one behind, I'm still working on my full moon dolls...will have the next one soon. :)

  4. Awesome skies. I was once playing bridge one afternoon in Nebraska when a tornado cloud passed overhead. The ski was an earie yellow green and it sounded like a freight train! Scared the daylights out of me!

  5. Dottie, I hope you didn't have the winning hand! That's hardly enough time to run down to the basement when you can hear that freight train sound. :)Bea

  10. Gorgeous pics Bea! The word power is surely the right word to use. We are having summer storms also, and keeping an eye on the tropics for hurricanes. At least with a hurricane we have time to leave, unlike a tornado. I remember the tornadoes in the panhandle of Texas, when I was a kid. Not fun!

  11. Thanks Yvonne. I don't know why I can't get enough of sky pictures. We have pretty sunsets but there is something about those storm clouds that just grab me. :)Bea

  13. I did, I did I clicked. You know how I adore clouds. I would have been rooted to the spot!I love the header photo, spectacular. County Clare is really short of water. Our well has run dry. We have not had water for over 2 weeks. It's like camping!!

Can you send some of yours? We are having to have a new, deeper well dug, 'next week' they say! Yeah! xxx
