Red and Riley

Ok, you can't see very much of the dress and this is probably the first time some of you have seen my face. TA DA!
Here's the little princess and her mother at the retirement party. Don't you love that dress?
Riley was a real trooper at the party, she got passed around to a lot of strangers and still managed to smile and be happy. Mary was happy to have so many helpers!
The party was very nice. I was surprised and pleased at the number of people that drove in from Milwaukee, about an hour and half drive to be there.
Peggy delivered her speech in Dr. Seuss verse, very cute and she managed to work in a number of funny punches to some people.
She and John have worked together for 30 years. One of the things I didn't realize was that when Margaret was hired in the Workmen's Compensation Division of the state in 1974 within six months she got the name changed to Worker's Compensation Division. Someone described her as a tiny little Pitt bull. lol
Tonight I'm going to a artist work showing. Somebody has bought a warehouse, refurnished it and is renting it out but in the meantime they are having a showing of about 100 local artist's work. Zeus asks that I wear the red dress again. Works for me! :)
I stood outside this morning and just soaked up the bird song. Maybe it's getting older, I don't know but I just couldn't get enough of it. Mr. Bluebird has been checking out the bluebird house. I wonder if he's the fourth or fifth generation to house there. I haven't seen any females yet. I can check my journal for last year but it seems to me they come up just a tad later.
I'm off to the studio. I want to work on the DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE CHALLENGE. I want to make sure that the directions I'm getting from the magazine really do work out before I pass those clues on to you.
This is going to be a really cute object when we get done. Something I think anybody that participates is going to enjoy having or giving as a gift. Please don't feel like you can't do this.
If you work in mixed media, paints, can thread a needle, make marks on fabric, you can do this.

:)Bea Create like it was your last chance to do so.

  4. I don't know why it's taken me so long to get a picture up of myself. Probably because I'm the one always taking them of other people. :)Bea

  7. Dahling, you look mahvelous! Really! The color is gorgeous. Bring it with you when you come to visit. I have a great place for you to wear it.

God, I can't believe how much Riley looks like you in your joint portrait! She is so completely adorable. And, of course, I'm a sucker for polka dots.

Yes, yes, yes, SPRING! I love it even on the muddy days because the promise of real outdoor weather and green is real. It's been 70 or close to most of the week and I haven't had to wear a coat. Heard my first thunder storm here yesterday and it was glorious....YEAH!!!!!

It's damp but the SNOW IS ALMOST GONE. Just a few little patches on the north side of things. The birds are singing and it's wonderful. :)Bea
