Let's talk about that 9"x7" piece.
This post is for those of you participating in the DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE BLIND CHALLENGE.
Experiment! I used medium weight interfacing, non fusible for the second photo. I painted it with fabric spray paint. I found some in Michael's, in primary colors and pastels. They are so much fun to work with.
In the second picture I cut some pieces of muslin and then coated them with white gesso. When they were dry I sanded them. This gives them a really wonderful feel, almost like leather. I'll be painting them with acrylics today.
I want to try some of that fabric paper. I've been meaning to make up some sheets for some time and this project just seems like a fun way to use it.
The top photo is an unfinished little wall hanging that I had on my UFO pile. I liked it but didn't really know what I was going to do with it. It has a lot of machine stitching on it already so I cut it up into a smaller size piece, to play around with.
Remember, this is play. You aren't locked into that size, it just is a nice size to work with.
If you are late to the party, it's OK! Just join in and have some fun. Trust me when I tell you that it will be really, really hard to mess this project up. AND, the end result is a fun piece.
I've already got a ton of ideas on how I want to tweak this project when I do it again and again.
I hope you will too.
