The Lace Reader

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XJ0oD-NOaE&feature=player_embedded#

I'm reading this book for the Library Book Club meeting on the 12th. I am thoroughly enjoying the book. Interesting little video about the book, you might like.

I have an urge to get out my big plastic box of lace pieces and making things with them. Things that the lace tells me to make.

  1. Lace reading? Sounds very interesting. Must be something that only certain people can do??? Never heard of it, but would like to know more about it. Is is real or fiction? I can see lacy designs in so many things. I love lace and in fact I just bought a box full of old lace a couple of weeks ago at a garage sale. I'm not sure what I will do with it but it sure spoke to me. I had to have it. I'd like to read this book. Like the music on the video too.

  2. I haven't finished the book yet but it's for the Mystery group that meets at the Library.
Oh I LOVE old lace. I just read an article about dyeing it with Easter egg dye of all things. I watch JoAnn's fabric store for sales on their lace too. Have you seen any of DJ Pettitt books? She's on my blog list. She uses pieces of lace in her wonderful fiber books. :)Bea

  3. What a pretty video that is, apart from the ending. I'd love that book, it's my kind of read.

  4. Well, I finished it and it was a good read. Twists and turns but I expected that. An interesting look at modern day Salem, MA, too. :)Bea
