Frederick Knick-Knack???

I picked up my mail from the mailbox and this rather HEAVY and beautifully painted envelope was at the bottom of the pile. My eyes traveled from the metallic stamped leaves to the array of stamps. The stamp in the return address spot just had a street address, JOHNSON in the center and Madison, WI.............I started racking my brain.............WHO? WHO? WHAT? WHO?
The back of the envelope gave me no clue, either. But, I love the stamp.

I opened the package carefully, not sure what to expect. I hadn't ordered anything from Amazon and they never come like this. I didn't have any exchanges or trades with anybody outstanding so what could it be?
The book is wonderful. You open the cover and that center square is a hole and the title of the book appears on the inside page.........
the Merchant of Marvels and the Peddler of Dreams.
OH I AM SO HOOKED NOW. I still can't think of who has sent this and I look for anything stuck in the book. Nope. Nothing.

Then I turn to the first page and start to grin................my grin gets bigger................I'm starting to giggle.......... You MUST click on the page to read it..........WHOEVER YOU ARE and I WILL FIND OUT you KNOW ME SO WELL, you do. lolololsnort
The entire book is this wonderful, delightful story of Frederick Knick-Knack a merchant of matches, of watches, of bluetits, of mirrors, of sand, blackbirds and berries, traveling tradesman in time and in hours, a peddler of dreams for celebrations and birthdays on the train tracks and highways, on the dirt tracks and byways, AND SURELY I HAVE in my bags or my boxes, in my chests or my cases, IN MY LITTLE CART or hidden away in the back of my shop,
Surely I have
a marvelous marvel,
a sheer folly
to tempt you.
GRANT ME, if you will, a few moments of your attention................
I would like to show you my collection of collections.
Apparently, he has a dilemma.
He must find the perfect gift for me.
I LOVE IT. I'm sitting here grinning with my dimples showing.
YOU, YOU, YOU whoever you are and I will put on my thinking cap.
I LOVE IT. Thank you soooooooooooooooooo much.
What fun.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

  4. Yvonne, it's a real published book! It's by Frederic Clement. If you get a chance to see it in some bookstores take a look at it. It's a wonderful gift for "special" people. lol It was published in 1997 so it should still be in stores. :)Bea

(What, I didn't? Well, never mind.)

    Say, what's for dinner, Hera?
