Creative Embroidery

I found this book on the NEW BOOK shelf, at the library, today and I snatched it up right away. OMG this is a book for some of us to drool over, be inspired by and want to stop whatever mundane thing we are doing and start right in to embroider. Written by Jan Beaney & Jean Littlejohn this is a soft bound book PACKED with gorgeous eye candy photographs, designs, textures and stitches.

I have the small pamphlet type books put out by them through Double Trouble Enterprises. I think there were 14 of them. This book is much thicker and well worth the price, US $21.95.
I took some pictures of some of MY favorite photographs from the book and put them in an album:http://picasaweb.google.com/bea3150/CreativeEmbroidery#
Please do yourself a treat and put them on slideshow so that you can see the bigger picture.

The book is divided into two sections Design to Embroider by Jean Littlejohn and the second part Stitched Images by Jan Beaney a third section tells one how to go about selecting a theme.
Check it out from your library and see if it's something you might want to add to your collection. It's certainly a book full of inspiration for me.

  1. Beautiful...enjoyed the slideshow. I will see if my library has this book. The colors they used and techniques too are wonderful. Looks so rustic. Love it.

  2. I thought you might like it Yvonne. I have loved all the books that these two have done. NOT, that I've yet to do ANYTHING that they have suggested but it's always right there in my mind to try something they suggest. I love, love, love the colors. :)Bea

  4. I'm seriously considering it. I consider it as if I was taking their course, you know. I would love to make myself just work through the book. :)Bea
