Some studio picture updates.

John has been working hard all weekend on the studio. You can see from the pictures that he has been taking down the wooden scaffolding that he built two years ago, so that he and my oldest son could insulate and put up the wallboard on the cathedral ceiling.
Life got in the way and he finally finished off the insulation and vapor barrier and then had a crew come out and start to finish off the wallboard.
The electrical is done for the ceiling fan and the lights that will be on the beams. Since I took this picture he has taken down all the remaining boards of the scaffolding structure.
Some time this week the walls will be finished and hopefully taped and painted. I've learned not to hold my breath for construction projects to be finished. I just keep an eye on things and keep on sorting all my art stuff.

  2. I am so envious! It is fabulous...which I knew it would be. If there is any question ever of if John loves you, this should resolve any doubts. What a wonderful, beautiful, magical place to work.

  5. Mim, the picture I use as my little icon is a picture of the "barn". We let our builder be creative and this is what he always wanted to build. The first floor is for storage of all that stuff that really doesn't fit in a garage. The second floor is my studio area. :)Bea

  8. Yvonne, I have a post dated October 9, 2007 where I talk about the barn being finished and how I hope to move into my studio by Christmas. I've tried to be very patient, knowning that life has other issues for me to deal with. Now, that it's actually becoming a reality I am VERY EXCITED.
I wish I could share Art Play Dates with all my friends. :)Bea
