Zetti letter P

Many years ago I came across a Yahoo group that featured Zetti.
Say what?

"Zetti (aka Zettiology) is a folk art style originated by Teesha and Tracy Moore. There's no real definition but there are some common characteristics such as static faces, striped legs, shapes for bodies, bright colours, found images, objects and papers, and lots of pointy hats."

For me that was exactly the artistic release I needed. Zetti brought out my slightly "off center" inner child. I stopped making "pretty, pretty" ATCs and postcards and started creating my own Zetti figures or situations. A year of Zetti Holidays just about did me in. Pulled away from the EDGE by a series of surgeries I stepped out of Zetti Land.

By now my husband had grasped the essence of Zetti. We would be watching a movie, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events and John would say, "Very Zetti like this is." And, he was right. The man GOT IT!

So, why this post? Ha......dear blog reader you are so patient.

Some days I NEED to chair dance to get my energy levels up.

Some days I NEED to reflect on a thoughtful phrase or poem .

Some days I NEED to grab my camera and look at the world through the lens.

What I had forgotten until recently is that some days, maybe more than I realized, I NEED to start my day with something very Zetti like. I NEED to stir that off center little child, the one with the oversized glasses wearing the funnel hat, blue fringe leather cowgirl and black and white saddle shoes.

I NEED to get that glint back in her eyes. The one that says, IT SEEMED LIKE A GOOD IDEA AT THE TIME.

And, so if you too need a little something Zetti like this morning I give you this. Enjoy YouTube - Homage to the Rabbits

Turn up your sound, peer into your screen and fall into the hole..............

  1. bea, i am happy to hear you let your inner child come out to play. have fun.

  2. You know, it was Teesha who started the pointy hat thing. It was fun at first but I've just about had it with wings and hats. Love the striped stockings and stoic faces. And the odd little creatures of her husband Traci's universe are pretty cool too!
PS Did I tell you how much I LOVE your new banner?!

  3. Ludid thanks for stopping by. As I get older and older my inner child gets louder and louder. :)Bea

  4. Linda, I still like funny hats or fish hats or bunny hats. I like the spirit of Zetti, the slightly off center look at life. I like the image of a Zettite that thinks of itself as "perfect" while the rest of the world stares in wonder at it. :)Bea

  5. Thanks for the thumbs up for the new banner. I try to change it every Sunday. This time I just grabbed some photos I had of past work I had done. It's nice to say hello to it again. :)Bea

  6. I agree with Linda, that banner is amazing. Beautiful. I am just aghast at that wonderful video. The music is haunting and the dance fantastic, thanks for posting the link. I shall go back to it.

Your inner child has to be loved and nurtured Bea and I'm so glad you are doing that. I think I forget mine quite a lot.
