Oh NOooooooo

It was 4:00pm when I was looking out my kitchen window and saw this coyote strolling through our back yard. I ran downstairs to grab my camera , ran back upstairs and still made it to the front of the house where it was taking a slow stroll down our driveway.
It's big, it's healthy and oh my it would eat Murphy in a Verona minute.
The other day I was pulling into our garage when I saw the tail of a Red Fox, up by the house, as it disappeared into the woods.
I think 4:00 in the afternoon was too early for this one to be out and about.
At least at night I know Murphy is inside safe and sound.
I take him outside in the afternoon and let him wander around while I take pictures or pull weeds. Guess I won't be doing that again. Oh My!!
Click on the picture so you can see his/her coloring. See the dark circle spot on the tail?

  1. I clicked on the photo and not only did I see the green spot, but I got to see the woods up close and personal! What a beautiful plot of woods you have! All the greenery. Lovely. Simply lovely.

  2. Oh boy. Pretty bold that he is just strolling down the driveway in the middle of the afternoon. I remember seeing coyotes late at night down by The Ridge, but never in the day time. Hopefully he is scared of people still

  3. He's so big. I swear it looked as big as Sam, our old dog. And, since it's open season, year round on killing them, he better not stroll like that around the farm across the street. :)Bea

This morning I saw a red fox on the way to work. He seemed very shy, which is a good thing.

  6. He certainly is a fine looking fellow. Fancy having him stroll about your garden. Amazing. It must be strange to have to keep your cats and dogs inside. Ours wander anywhere and everywhere.

Bea, one of the Myrtles just muttered something about having your hair henna-ed. I don't think it was a compliment.
