Miss Stellwagon says...................

One of our favorite movies is Mr. Blandings builds his dream house. Lots of times either John or myself will find ourselves quoting from the movie.
I think one of my favorite scenes is when Mrs. Blandings is telling the painter what colors she wants for each room. She describes in great detail the color of fresh butter, a Robin's egg and so on. The painter listens carefully and then says to himself as he writes down the colors,"Yup, yellow, blue................"
Well, here is the Marmalade ( orange) room with the soon to be laid tile, on the floor.
John has been busy last night and early this morning putting down the
special floor board for the tile. He actually told me this morning that ( and you have to remember that this man LOVES to golf) that he would almost
rather stay home and put down the tile than golf!!!!!!
Remember, almost.
It's going to be beautiful.
And, "all I said was..........." another famous line from the movie.
But, it's true. The rug was ordered, the guy was coming out to measure the room and all I said was that one of my dear blog readers, Elizabeth had mentioned that she had tile down in her "orange" rooms and she described the tile.
All I did was pass that tidbit on to John and let it "simmer" for a bit.
By the way, treat yourself to a good movie, Cary Grant, Myrna Loy, Melvyn Douglas, in Mr. Blandings Builds His Dreamhouse.
Ahhhhhyup

  3. I've not heard of that film Bea but it made me smile, the tale of the painter in it. I'm sure I'd enjoy it. Those tiles are delicious. I love the way we plant a little 'seed' in our man's brain and just leave it there to grow. Then they think it was their idea in the first place!!! lol. I have just seen your Blog List at the side and mine has a very boring photo of a step! I must make sure my first photo is a good one in future!! lol. I didn't know your husband was a golfer. I've never lived with one - must be a challenge at times.

  4. Love the color! We had our living room and part of the dining room done in that color. Can't remember the name but it wasn't orange. LOL!
