We're feeling a little more back to normal today. Stress makes me tired. The stress and worry about John just made Wednesday until today days of sleep and little focus. Last night it was a beautiful evening so we took a drive to Mineral Point for dinner.
John had gone into work yesterday so I drove while he took a nap, in the car. We ate at an old stone Inn with just a few tables and wonderful locally grown food cooked by an excellent chef. Apparently, after tasting their soup John told me I'm going to have to up my game. That's ok, it's a nice drive there if he wants the soup!
Last night we had torrential rains. I haven't seen it rain that hard for a long time. Strong winds and today it looks like more rain. I feel sorry for any birds that had nests built in bushes or weak branches, after last night I am guessing they were destroyed.
Our porch Robin has decided that the nest she built on the door light is an excellent place for a second brood. She has four eggs in there now. I peeked out at her last night during the storm and she was hunkered down in the nest. She has a three foot roof overhand over her so she was well protected.
The Purple Finch babies in all three nests in my hanging plants have flown away. I think I can safely take down the bedraggled fake hanging baskets and put up my real ones. Boy, do they make a mess of those baskets.
Still no baby yet. Mary's due date was the 17th so she's not that far past it.
I'm not making any plans until she delivers. I can't wait.
Thank you again to everyone that emailed or commented on John's TGA experience. Thank you for your good thoughts and suggestions.
I hope you enjoy being creative today in whatever endeavor you are working on. :)Bea

  1. I was going to ask you about Mary and now I have the answer! Glad to hear it's a nice drive to the inn. LOL!
    Take care, friend!

  2. How wonderful to have nests in your hanging baskets and I love the term "Our Porch Robin" - I didn't know they laid eggs twice in one season - I'm glad to hear that.
Costco has a great book right now on bird songs - look up the bird and press the button and voila - good quality rendition of the song.
! It's a keeper - you should see the reaction it causes in our little Yorkie!
Glad to hear things are getting back to normal.
