Now, I know this is of no interest to some of you but I had an email from a viewer that asked me to keep on posting updates on the growth of the tadpoles. She's never lived anywhere near water or seen anything like this so she is finding it really interesting.
If you click on the picture you can see some of them have almost frog like bodies, with the long tail.
They love to stay in the very shallow, warm edge of the pond.
When I get close to the pond edge and even keep my shadow from crossing the surface of the pond, they still scatter. I have to stand very still before they will come back to where they were. There are still scads of them at the edge. I suppose if we get a Blue Heron to land in the pond, these guys are in trouble.
I'm going to post a link to an album of pictures I took today while walking around the back prairie areas and of the huge boulders in the front lawn that were left from the glacier.
