Thirteen years today. They look so young in this picture. Now they are parents of three wonderful children, Hayden, Hunter and Sawyer. They are best friends. They have worked on their partnership through tough times and good times. They can make each other laugh and make each other want to throw a shoe at a door. They support each other and encourage each other. Her parents have been married for 41 years and his for 40. May they both find that their marriage can last that long and longer. May they remember to not go to bed angry with one another. May they remember that all they really have is this moment in time and to tell each other how much they mean to one another.
I'm proud of them. I'm proud of how they have worked on their marriage.
I'm proud of what good parents they have become. I'm proud of what decent human beings they are.
I love my daughter-in-law like she was my daughter and the woman she has become.
I love my son for the man, husband and father he has become.
It isn't easy. Marriage takes a lot of work. A lot of compromise. A lot of laughter and learning when to pick your battles.
Be kind to each other.
Happy 13th Anniversary kids. :)Love, Ma
