Ok, there you have it, campers. I made the bread for dinner tonight and it was a BIG hit. Half the loaf is gone, eaten with lots of yummmms. I used my pizza pan with the holes in it, which is why the bottom has that neat design on it. I sprayed the pizza pan with Pam, then coated it with cornmeal, pretty much like I do when I make pizza.
I used Laney's suggestion to brush the top with water right before I put it in the oven.
The consistency and texture of the inside was great. The crust was crunchy and delicious.
I started out with just a grapefruit size blob of dough just like they suggested. It took 40 minutes to rise some more, then cut the top, brushed it with water and popped it in the 450 oven for 20 minutes. Really easy.

  1. MMmm, what a lovely hunk of bread. Nothing like the smell of bread baking in the oven tops much else.
