A cup of tea and a warm fire and thee.......

I just went outside with Murphy. Boy is it miserable out there. I did grab my camera because the bushes are beautiful covered with this ice. Unfortunately, the ice coating can cause some branches to break off and that's not so good for the bushes or trees.
It's still raining and damp and cold.
I've been working in the studio on some little banners for a swap in one of the Yahoo groups I belong to. The phrase "his armor was like fish scales..."
stuck in my head so I decided to cut 1" squares of colorful patterned fabric and use my wave cutter blade and attach them in an over locking manner on the banner. I sewed around the edge and added the backing with Steam-A-Seam2. They have pieces of yarn at the top for hanging the banner.
Of course, I'll post a picture tomorrow. They are upstairs in the studio and I'm downstairs by the fireplace, keeping warm.
The second set of banners are to have some sort of inspirations phrase on them. I'm using this gorgeous black, white and yellow, Asian look fabric for the banners and putting this Inspirational message on each one:
Come to the edge, he said.
Come to the edge,
he said.
They said: We are afraid.
Come to the edge, he said.
They came.
He pushed them...
and they flew.
Guillaume Apollinaire
I've always loved that. It's on the inside of one of my journals.
I'm going to go puzzle a little now. We are working on a puzzle by Jane Wooster Scott called As Good As It Gets. This one has 1500 pieces. A little harder but the pieces are nice shapes and really colorful so it's been fun so far. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Hope you are doing something creative. :)Bea
