Here are my two shadow pictures for today. One looks like it's from the past and one from the future.
It's supposed to start warming up this afternoon. On my walk, around the yard, with Murphy we could hear a lot of bird calls. Something I haven't heard since last fall. It really makes me smile to hear all the chatter.
Although, our geese don't really migrate anymore they are moving around from one field to another. With so much snow this winter the snow free fields must be a real treat for them.
I found this feather on our walk. I suspect it's from the Northern Harrier, a smaller hawk than the Red Tailed Hawk. I've seen it flying under the upper deck, close to the ground which is how they like to hunt. It's markings are very similar to this feather. We used to call it the Marsh Hawk because that's where you would often see them. I brought the feather inside and now Louie is giving it the once over. I'll add it to my collection of feathers, nests and unhatched bird eggs.
