Murphy and I waited until the sun was high in the sky and then we went out for a walk and to visit the Zettipets in the garden.
I put some gesso on the art doll I'm working on for my daughter. I decided to use one of the Bendi dolls that I have as the base.
I also trimmed the face and the paperclay has an interesting texture when you are working with it in the dried state. It does feel like smooth paper. I put gesso on all the faces too.
I was supposed to join my art quilt buddies for an afternoon at one of the downtown museums, today. It isn't going to happen. Just taking the walk with Murphy exhausted me and started me coughing again. Still it was good to be outside in the sunshine.
I was sewing the first layer of outer garments for the doll when my decorative stitch got itself caught up in the lace and now I have to take my bobbin unit apart and clean out the thread debris. I debated about sewing the lace on by hand or by machine. Guess I should have gone with my first thought, hand sewing.
What I need now is a good cup of tea and a sit down with a purring cat, on my lap. Lucky for me I know exactly where to find it all. Enjoy your day, my friends and remember the journey is the process.
