January 5, 2009

I needed to see something beautiful and I thought maybe those of you looking at snow, snow and more snow, might need something too.
This is a picture from St. John's from Christmas of 2007. It's one I keep on my computer desk. It's very calming to look at.
I ran across a quote this morning that I thought I would share with you.
The quote came from an African woman whose tribe made houses beautifully decorated in colored mud. The walls needed constantly remaking and visiting tourists sighed at the waste of so much creativity. Why didn't the women put this work into pictures they could hang on the walls? "They have their little forevers," laughed the woman, "but we are forever creating."
There is no creation without risk and life is in the process, not the product.
Well said.
