For this art quilt I did a stitched on white fabric with white thread. It is stitched through the batting and backing. I've added texture to the figures with embroidery stitches, from my sewing machine. I will wash and dry this getting more texture with the puckering that will occur. Then I plan to paint the piece.
I did make one before this one. I was impatient to get busy on the painting and it wasn't completely dry. Faces run when it's damp, ask me how I know.
I often have a problem getting my photos to upload where I want them. Let's see what happens with the second photo. Well, it didn't load under the first picture. I need to figure out how to get it to do this. Sometimes it's just frustrating on how long it takes to upload a photo.
The second in the series is done with a different technique. Here I've fused fabric onto a base to create a landscape and added the Storyteller figure and her children. I've just started to detail the shapes of the mountains with decorative stitching from my sewing machine.
