Here's a picture of my first pin weaving. It's 12"x12" and I've wrapped it around a nice piece of canvas. The end of the threads, yarn, fabric, etc. are loose and I will be attaching homemade fabric and clay beads to them. It's made to hang on the wall and I thought I had a spot in the living room for it until I found out my husband wanted to take it down to his office. I'll have to make another one for myself. I love the colors in this.
I had no difficulty in finding fibers, yarn or ribbon. It seems I've been doing a good job of collecting them over the years. I have to say this was soooooooooooo relaxing to do.
I was in the local library, this morning, and had a chance to talk with the Teen Librarian. I've done a art journal workshop, with her, for preteens and teens, last year. We talked about doing a pin weaving workshop, this summer. I think the kids would have a lot of fun working on them.
They make great art journal covers too!
